High-speed charging arrives in Macclesfield with 8 new charge points

The Macclesfield hub features four 300kW chargers, equating to eight 150kW charge points, each capable of charging up to 100 miles of range in around 15 minutes 15 minutes. The launch represented an upgrade to the region’s public electric charging network, supporting the implementation of Cheshire East Council’s EV charging strategy.

Eight electric vehicles can charge simultaneously at the 150kW charge points, whilst drivers enjoy the nearby convenience offers.

The chargers are accessible from the A523, known as The Silk Road, a busy route of vital importance to motorists and businesses around Cheshire.

The latest in charging technology from bp pulse, these charge points can charge an EV to 100 miles in around 15 minutes depending on the vehicle, its charge management software, its battery, the weather and driving conditions. With the network expansion in Macclesfield, bp pulse is helping to deliver the reliability, convenience and confidence local motorists and fleet operators need to go electric.

bp is backing Britain with plans to invest up to £18 billion in the UK energy system by the end of 2030. This includes up to £1 billion for EV charging infrastructure.
